Do you have soreness in your shoulders and trapezius muscles? This can be hard to ignore and even harder to soothe. Tension in the upper back, neck, and shoulders may emerge from trapezius pain, causing daily aching and hindering your ability to function normally. With neuromodulators injected into the muscle, you can say goodbye to lurking pain and hello to improved posture. At Aesthetic Evolution, we offer Botox for muscle soreness and pain relief.

What is Trapezius pain?

Trapezius pain stretches along the length of the muscle covering the area of the neck, shoulder, and mid-back. Trapezius pain can hinder your ability to function normally by causing stiffness, decreased range of motion, and constant aching. If you have an injured trapezius muscle, you may feel pain in your upper back, shoulders, and neck.

Out of the several injectors I’ve went to, Haley Outcalt is by far the most talented, knowledgeable and professional. Though I’ve gotten botox on several occasions, this was my first time getting lip injections- I was nervous and excited. I have used Haley for quite a few years to do all of my injections and have only ever had amazing results! From Dysport to facial fillers and Sculptra, all of my results from treatments with Haley have always been perfect. She always comes across expertly educated in the products and techniques she is using and I love how passionate she is about the newest things to hit the market. I can count on her to always introduce me to the best products and techniques that will work for my anti aging needs. My husband and I both see Haley for our injections and we love that she offers concierge service to accommodate our busy schedules. She’s worth every penny!

What is Shoulder pain?

Shoulder pain can be caused by arthritis, inflammation, dislocation, and unwanted tension from the trapezius muscles. Shoulder pain can be impossible to ignore, causing a decreased range of motion in your shoulders and arms. When you experience a trapezius injury, you will notice pain and stiffness within the shoulder, among other surrounding areas.

Causes

The causes for trapezius injury and shoulder pain can vary. Repetitive activities, including lifting heavy weights, swimming, working with your hands, and sitting at a desk in front of a computer, can lead to pain in the trapezius and shoulders. Overworked trap muscles can become tight, causing rigid movements. Once tightened and painful, stress can occur, causing a cycle of tightness within the trapezius and shoulders that is hard to relieve. Those who perform repetitive work using their neck and shoulders are at higher risk of experiencing ongoing trapezius pain.

Symptoms

Symptoms of trapezius pain can include stiffness and pain in your surrounding muscles, burning sensation in the muscles, a hunched neck and shoulders, limited mobility in the neck and arms, decreased range of motion, muscle weakness, muscle spasms, tension headaches, and increased anxiety and stress due to pain.

Treatments

Different neuromodulators offer the option to treat trapezius pain. Botox is typically known for smoothing wrinkles, adding volume, and creating glowing skin. However, Botox can also treat issues within the trapezius muscle because it temporarily weakens the muscle. Other injection benefits include elongating the neck and relaxing your shoulders. Traptox can make your traps appear slimmer over time, improve posture, and relieve pain.

Botox is FDA-approved to block nerve signals to halt unwanted muscle movement safely. You may start to notice relief within 10 to 14 days. The effects of traptox can last between three and six months. This can reduce the severity of pain experienced within your trap muscles and increase shoulder function and range of motion.
