What are Migraines?

Migraines are severe headaches that can cause throbbing pain or pulsing, usually on one side of the head. They may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound. Some individuals with migraines may also experience aura, which is a group of sensory, motor, and speech symptoms that occur before the migraine pain begins. These symptoms may include blind spots in your vision, numb or tingling skin, seeing bright flashes, speech changes, and more.

Many people with migraines experience them 2-4 times a month, and some more often. This can greatly impact their ability to live normal, fulfilling lives. Thankfully, Botox injections are a great treatment option for decreasing the number of headache days a month.

The Patient Experience

reviews

Hayley is the absolute best. She is professional and makes you feel so comfortable. 10/10 recommend.

Haley is the real deal in the esthetic industry! Her knowledge and education she gives each client is above and beyond what other injectors could even begin to provide. She takes her time to ensure her clients are clear on exactly what they can expect and if their expectations are attainable. She offers advice and alternatives for clients who are not candidates of a specific treatment whatever the reason. This type of honesty is what we all look for in the esthetic industry. Someone who looks beyond themself and their own agenda to give the client true realistic results in a safe, professional and ethical manner. Haley is superior in this arena!

The Migraine Treatment Process

Botulinum toxin injectables such as Botox have been shown to relieve migraine pain. It works by interrupting pain transmission pathways between the brain and nerves that extend from the spinal cord.

During treatment, Botox will be injected into the small muscles under the skin on various face, head, and neck areas. Treatment is quick, taking only about 10 minutes to complete.

Recovery

There is no downtime required following Botox treatment for migraines, so patients can return to their regular activities as soon as they wish. For full benefits, it is recommended that patients receive 2 treatments, 12 weeks apart. Results usually last for 10-12 weeks at a time. Most people will require just four Botox treatments for migraines a year.
